This is a Rudolph Wurlitzer Model 146A Military Band Organ - Circa 1920’s. Serial Number 3514 is stamped on the back cover board of the wind chest. Records (Wurlitzer Band Organ manufacturing ledger) indicate that this number was assigned during March 1923. This model has 49 keys. It plays a style 150 paper roll. It is equipped with the following instrumentation. Outside: Bass, Cymbal and Snare Drum. Inside: 3 wooden trombones, 3 octave stopped basses 15 wooden trumpets, 15 stopped flutes, 16 violin, 9 open and 16 open flute pipes Bottom: 3 open bass, 9 stopped accompaniment, 16 stopped melody pipes. Stops: 1 for trumpets, 1 for stopped flutes, 1 for inside violin pipes. It was used on the carousel at the Glen Burnie MD Annual Carnival and Baltimore City MD Fair throughout the 1970’s
