We bring you another I, Voidhanger release, to satisfy those of you with more avantgarde leanings. The debut album from Finnish band Alkuharmonian Kantaja (featuring Order member J. Usurper of Iku-Turso, Korpituli, and Universal Disorder fame, among others) spikes the post-black experimentation with a little pagan spirit and atmosphere, and a vocal performance that hangs in the same ethereal space as Gaahl’s Wyrd hypnotic intonations. An album of uncommon luminous reflection, this is a spirited and spiritual as it is uncompromising, dealing with concepts of the self, primitivism and primal nature, and the psychic matter of existence.
