People have been asking for a video on Jurenzo Julius and I finally decided to do it. Jurenzo is probably the most hyper schoolboy player to come out of South Africa in quite some time, and rightfully so, he had some amazing highlights with his monster tackles and his storming runs. Not to mention the guy has insane size for his age, which makes you understand why he was so feared at high school level. He played outside centre at school but I see he is now transitioning to wing since he signed with the Sharks and played for their u/20 team as well as the Junior Boks. I have to agree with that, I think his skills will be better set for Wing or even Fullback, than it would for outside centre. As much highlights as he did have at 13 for Paul Roos, there were also quite a few instances where he missed a read and gave up a try. But overall he was still a very good 13, and you have to keep in mind he is extremely young still. This is more a case of me projecting his career in the next 4 years, where we have some insane talent at 13 coming up in South Africa, and with the system we play at the Springboks, defence is more important at 13 than attack, that is why someone like Henco van Wyk is so special, his defence sets him apart. Now if we look at Julius and his skillset, he is explosive and he is also extremely good under the high ball, it really surprised me how good he was under the high ball considering his age. Usually that is something that needs to be coached after school and he already has that. So I can really see him turn into a excellent utility back that can be dominant at wing or fullback. Either way, it will be interesting to see his progression in the next few years, so far he has done extremely good and it doesn't look like the hype got to his head or anything like that.
