On August 21, the Ubinas volcano erupted in the department of Moquegua in southern Peru. A strong explosion caused a column of ash and smoke, the height of which exceeded 3000 meters. Nearby cities remain in a state of emergency for 60 days, declared July 5 by the Peruvian Council of Ministers. Ubinas is the most active volcano in Peru. He began his eruptive activity on June 24 of this year after being inactive for four years.
