A personal rework of one of my favorite classics ever, New Order's Blue Monday. I had mixed feelings the first time I heard it in some club. These dribbling bass drums were kind of weird to me. I couldn't really understand why people were mad when they recognized the track. Then, when I left, I realized the only melodies that were still around in my head were those of this pure classic. I started to listen to it and couldn't help but put it on hard rotation at home and in my studio. I became obsessed with it and even wanted to own the same hardware that was used to produce it (a few days later, I bought an Oberheim DX from some guy who claimed he signed with Virgin Records on the same day as Daft Punk). The original multitracks sessions are publicly available so I had to do here we are. I wanted to give the track a more modern & Italo direction, while trying to respect the original vibe. Hope you'll enjoy it & spin it in front of passionate crowds. ϶
