I have once again selected a very interesting restoration project for you. It is an old football arcade machine from 1920. It was manufactured in Belgium and is called FOOT-BALL STAAR - 2 J. V2. The machine is completely mechanical and contains no electronic parts. The condition of the football machine was badly deteriorated. Most of the mechanical parts no longer worked; some were broken or even shattered. Additionally, there was heavy rust on the parts, and the wood had warped due to prolonged exposure to moisture. It took me a lot of time and effort to make the football machine playable again. Why wasn’t the arcade machine fully restored? During the restoration, it was important to me that the football machine was not restored to 100% perfection. I didn’t want it to look as if it had just come out of the store brand new. You should be able to see that it has a history. For this reason, I didn’t renew the playing field or the players, but instead cleaned and refreshed them. I believe this highlights the long history of the machine. However, I restored and repaired the mechanical parts and the wooden components to make them functional again. This way, the arcade machine can be played just like in the old days.
