This short film is based on the location theatre play “Noordwesterwals“ (1995). This immensely popular show was performed on a slipway of an old dock in the north of Amsterdam. The highlight was when millions gallons of water flooded the dock and flowed even under the stands of the audience. A spectacular mythical story of a little community under the sea level, that has to fight against the water. After two summers of performing the spectacle, Threes Schreurs and Boris Paval Conen adapted the play and co-directed this short feature film. The film was produced by the Dogtroep, AVRO and IDTV.
