️ Stryker got hit, he fled: AFU POW told how he surrendered to Russian troops After ‘officially’ undergoing a medical examination in the enlistment office and military training, AFU POW Andrei Shulgan got sent to the front lines. For a week, he and his comrades ate dry rations in a make-shift tent with an installed cape. Then, they were loaded in Stryker IFVs and were taken to a forest. The mobilised Ukrainian servicemen didn’t get to their destination. ‘…We got hit, the Stryker’s engine stalled. All of us fled,’ he said. Having survived an explosion of a grenade behind his back by sheer luck, Shulgan decided to run away: ‘I started running. They were shooting, there were explosions. I ran as far as I could see. I took a little break to rest and ran further,’ said the POW. Shulgan didn’t serve in the AFU for long. As he said, he got a leaflet with an offer to surrender. Shulgan followed that advice.
