The Bangladeshi prime minister has resigned and fled the country in a helicopter after dozens more deaths in clashes between protesters, police and supporters of her government. Reports suggest the army gave Hasina 45 minutes to pack and board the helicopter. Thousands of people poured onto the streets of the capital, Dhaka, in jubilation as news of her exit spread. Some stormed Hasina’s official residence, Ganabhaban, shouting slogans, pumping fists and showing victory signs.
