The visual effects in this TV mini-series were painfully bad, even for their time, and hopefully these images will be wiped away by the dunes and worms we see in the upcoming film version. The music, however, was very notable, and introduced many of us to the shining new talent of Brian Tyler, who since then has become a major film composer. Starring James McAvoy, Susan Sarandon, P. H. Moriarty, Alec Newman and Julie Cox. Based on the book by Frank Herbert, and directed by Greg Yaitanes. Music by Brian Tyler.
