Join me for a walk around the centre of one of the greatest historic mill towns in Lancashire: Burnley! Once one of the foremost centres of industry in the world, this lively town rose from a mere few farmhouses to become the major urban hub we know today, and is still full of history from its heyday. On our walk around Burnley, we pass a number of interesting landmarks, including Burnley Magistrates' Court, Burnley Library, Burnley Peace Garden, Burnley Miners' Memorial, Place de Vitry-sur-Seine (Town Square), Looking to the Future sculpture, Burnley War Memorial, The Boot Inn, The White Lion pub, Charter Walk shopping centre, The Swan pub, Burnley Lock-Up, the old Red Lion Hotel, Burnley Mechanics, Burnley Town Hall, Burnley Technical School, Burnley Police Station, Burnley Central Stores, the River Calder, The Corkhouse, and Hammerton Street.
