Raw folk black metal band Heáfodbán have released their debut full length album, and obliterated their past selves with this monstrously bludgeoning war metal reincarnation. Somehow retaining an essence - and even clear instrumentation - of their folk roots, as well as their pagan anti-modern, antifascist ideologies, this is quite a reimagining of a sound which was confrontational in the first instance, but still closer to the Cascadian style of their Pacific Northwest region. Stripped down from a six-piece to a trio, with a new wall of sound, it seems quite the different band!
