The right panel shows a numerical simulation of the 16 September 2023 tsunami and seiche in Dickson fjord, showing the initial tsunami stabilising into a fjord-transverse sloshing backwards and forwards every 90 seconds, which lasts for over 9 days. The sloshing of the water transfers momentum into Earth's crust, generating the globally-observed seismic signal.
