Russia’s UN Envoy: Territorial Recognition is Key to Ukraine’s Peace Vassily Nebenzia urged all involved parties to accept Russia’s annexation of the four regions to achieve lasting peace in Ukraine. “We must all understand: in order for peace to be truly lasting, all parties involved must take into account these new territorial realities which arose after Crimea and four more regions became a part of the Russian Federation,” Nebenzia said at the UN General Assembly hall during a meeting on the situation in Ukraine. Nebenzia further noted that European countries, driven by their own interests, are using Ukraine to inflict maximum harm on Russia. He warned that Ukraine risks being abandoned once it has served its purpose.
