Refueling your Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle BMW How-To

In this video, BMW explains how to aerate and refuel your Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle. BMW Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles are equipped with a special fuel tank, alternating combined driving with an internal combustion engine and electric motor. Therefore, the fuel tank needs to be aerated before refuelling. Make sure to turn off the drive-ready state of your vehicle. Press the button in the driver's door area to start aerating. You can see the tank aeration status in the instrument cluster. When the tank aeration has finished, a message is displayed in the instrument cluster and the fuel filler flap is unlocked for opening. If it is not possible to open the fuel filler flap, press the button in the driver's door area again.
