Shot 08/30/ VISITS ITALY Libyan leader, Colonel Gaddafi, is spending roughly 48 hours in Rome (he arrived ~2:pmET Sunday) to celebrate the two-year anniversary of the signing of a five-billion euro accord, under which Italy agreed to pay reparations for its colonial rule of Libya between 1911 and 1943. The agreement also included an Italian commitment to build a motorway along the Libyan coast and a deal to co-operate in stopping North African immigrants reaching Italy by boat. This is NOT an official state visit and there are no pressers planned. Gaddafi and Berlusconi will open the Libyan Academy in Rome (11a ET) before attending an equestrian show to mark the anniversary of the pact. To License This Clip, Click Here:
