Ray Liotta, the actor known for his roles in “Field of Dreams” and the Martin Scorsese mob classic “Goodfellas”, has died. He was 67. “Ray was working on a project in the Dominican Republic when he passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 26, 2,022,” his publicist said in a statement. “He was a beloved friend, father and colleague who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.” Liotta was born in Newark, New Jersey, on December 18, 1,954. He was adopted by Mary and Alfred Liotta, who were of Italian and Scottish descent. He studied acting at the University of Miami, where he became friends with Steven Bauer. He made his film debut in the black comedy “Something Wild” (1,986), which earned him a Golden Globe Award nomination. He rose to fame as Shoeless Joe Jackson in “Field of Dreams” (1989) and Henry Hill in “Goodfellas” (1990), which is widely regarded as one of the best films of all time. Liotta appeared in numerous other films, including “Unlawful Entry” (1,992), “Cop Land”
