Acapulco de Juárez is a coastal city in the state of Guerrero, Mexico. It is a worldknown city and has an important port at the Pacific Ocean. Acapulco is also a beach resort town with luxury 5 star hotels for millionaires. Unfortunately due to gang violence, drug cartels and increasing homicide numbers the city is unsafe. It is the 7th deadliest city in the world. Still Acapulco attracts many foreign tourists for its outstanding beaches. There are 3 parts in Acapulco Bay. The South is known as Diamante. The north from Caletilla and Caleta to Zócalo and Parque Papagayo. Finally the center part which is called Zona Dorada (Golden Zone). The metropolitan area of Acapulco has a population of 1 million. Highlights of the city are La Quebrada, Island of La Roqueta, Acapulco Diamante, bay of Puerto Marqués, Our Lady of Solitude Cathedral, Chapel of Peace, Fort of San Diego and the mural of Quetzalcoatl by Diego Rivera.
