Support me on Ko-Fi: A little while ago I uploaded a number of James Bond radio plays starring Toby Stephens. These culminated in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, with its memorable ending... The follow-up to that story, 'You Only Live Twice' has not yet been adapted starring Toby Stephens - but there is a 1990s adaptation starring Michael Jayston. As I'll be uploading that soon, I thought I'd offer this 'Book at Bedtime' reading of On Her Majesty's Secret Service as a warm-up to the next play, and a recap of where James Bond finds himself as he goes into You Only Live Twice. Joanna Lumley was herself in the film adaptation of this novel, so it makes sense for her to perform a reading of it... though in fact she also returns to the story in the radio play, albeit playing the villainous Irma Bunt. Check out my other channel @mysteriousmagpie for hundreds of radio plays about ghosts, monsters and murderers... If you're interested to know more about the century-long history of ghost and horror stories broadcast at Christmas on British television and radio, you might like to check out my book, HOLLY WRAITHS (and its companion volume HOLLY TERRORS), an A-Z guide available in paperback and ebook from Amazon and : =sr_1_2?crid=19SPJYB8KTAJ0&keywords=holly wraiths&qid=1693491353&sprefix=holly wraiths,aps,87&sr=8-2
