We ask him about his comparison of the actions of Hamas on October 7 with the Slave Rebellion of 1831 under Nat Turner. Finkelstein has argued that we should not condemn the actions of Hamas even if atrocities were committed on the same grounds that we don't condemn the acts of the slave rebels who committed atrocities in their act of rebellion. We also discussed his response to Sam Harris that the Islamic world, including Hamas, has not reformed itself leading to an inferior moral world. We link his response to Samuel Huntington's essay about the clash of civilizations, and rising Islamophobia. From there, we discussed the prospect of peace, the politics in the middle east, and within Israel and Palestine. We also asked him if he sees any possibility of American withdrawal of support to Israel. We wrapped up the segment on a personal note asking how the recent turn of events in Palestine has shaped his work and personal life. ๐ด๐ด๐ด Follow us on Twitter: Instagram ๐ด๐ด๐ด We are also looking for sponsorships or small donations.
