Diego Armando Maradona, also known as “El Pibe de Oro“ (“The Golden Boy“), was an iconic yet controversial professional football player. He was born was in one of the most poverty-stricken places in Argentina, Villa Fiorito, where he would spend his days playing with a ball. Maradona’s talent did not go unnoticed, at the age of 9 he began his career playing and breaking records with Argentinos Juniors.
