The lavish governmental, religious and military ceremonies for Emperor Haile Selassie’s coronation in 1930. While other US and European film crews were present, Burton Holmes was the only cameraman allowed inside the Royal Enclosure. Includes footage of the coronation, various foreign diplomats and dignitaries in attendance, local people arriving in the city to watch the festivities and native chieftains garbed in lion manes, carrying lances, rifles and shields riding horseback in the processionals.
