Peter Goalby - Captains Log

The B-side to Peter Goalby’s 1975 single “You Are Day You Are Night“. “Captains Log“ was penned by Goalby, and produced by Richie (Richard) Tattersall (who wrote the A-side). The orchestra arrangement was done by John Fiddy - who had (years previously) arranged the orchestra for Uriah Heep’s “Salisbury“. Fiddy passed away in 2017 (RIP). In a 2002 interview Fiddy recalled - “In about 1973 I started recording Alvin Stardust with Peter Shelley for Magnet Records (lots of hits), and later I was asked by Magnet to arrange and produce a singer/songwriter by the name of Peter Goalby. We became great friends and made what we thought were some great tracks, but they were never released.“
