Follow us on Telegram: Crowds gathered outside the London headquarters of the BBC on Wednesday as a man scaled the facade of the building to attack sculptor Eric Gill's work depicting Prospero and Ariel. Bystanders photographed the man vandalising the statue with some asking him to stop. Damage was visible to the legs of the child depicted in the statue, and the genitals had also been smashed off. The man was later arrested and taken into custody, as well another individual arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit criminal damage. British cultural historian Fiona MacCarthy’s 1989 biography of Gill included sections of what is alleged to be the artist’s personal diaries, in which he describes sexually abusing his daughters, and having sexual relations with his sisters and pet dog. #EricGill #BBC Subscribe to our channel!
