Built and developed by Subaru Motorsports USA and Vermont SportsCar, 'Project Midnight' was unveiled just a few days ahead of the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The car was born from the current-generation Subaru WRX and it's been specifically designed to be as quick and as fast as possible on tarmac, compared to its progenitor, the Airslayer, which was built for Pastrana's Gymkhana 2020 video. Compared to the regular car's , 270hp flat-4 engine, Project Midnight is powered by a flat-4 (derived from the rallycross WRX) and it's able to produce 670hp and 920Nm of torque, revving up to 9,500 rpm. The total weight of the car is around 1,120 kg (2469 lbs). Project Midnight's huge rear wing is also an exaggerated version of the one found on Vermont SportCar's WRX ARA24 gravel rally car. The task of driving the car and setting the best time in the famous Shootout competition was entrusted to ex-F1 and current Subaru Motorsport USA rallycross driver Scott Speed, who managed to finish in second place with a time of seconds (and a best run of 45.1 seconds on Saturday's qualifying). 0:00 Heading to the start line 1:27 Close ups 1:45 In action on the hillclimb 4:10 Back to the paddock #SubaruWRX #SubaruWRX2024 #ProjectMidnight --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have to thank my friend and youtuber @NM2255 for the great collaboration done during the event! -- Subscribe to my 2nd channel here: You can also find and follow me on: - Flickr: - Facebook: - Instagram: Camcorder: Canon Legria GX10 Zoom H5, Sony FDR AX700 Audio-Technica Microphone Event: Festival of Speed 2024 Where: Goodwood, England THANKS FOR WATCHING AND SUBSCRIBE!!!
