Titles read: “RIVALS JOIN DE GAULLE“. London. M/S of two Frenchmen “of diametrically opposed political views“, Pierre Brossolette and Charles Vallin, arriving at the French Headquarters in London. They are to join Charles De Gaulle after escaping from France. M/S of the two men. Vallin reads from a piece of paper, saying he does not speak english yet but wants to say how glad he is to be with the British. He says they have not forgotten in France that the resistance of Britain gives them the hope that France will one day be liberated. Brossolette explains that although Vallin belongs to a party from the right and he is a Socialist the only distinction now in occupied France is between those who resist, with De Gaulle and those who collaborate with Petain and La Valle. He says 90% of people in France are with General De Gaulle. Note: commentary suggests the two men left the Vichy Government to join De Gaulle and the Free French. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
