A documentary about Russian-Japanese relations ‘Building Trust: Russians in Japan’ Created with the support of the International Chodiev Foundation, this is the second film in a trilogy dedicated to the history of relations between two countries. The documentary tells a story of people who made their contribution to the strengthening of Russian-Japanese relations. Numerous unique, previously unknown historical facts are showcased for the first time in this film. The Japanese tattoo of Russian Tzar Nicholas II, textile art genius Itchiku Kubota's imprisonment in Siberia, the popularity of Russian chocolate ‘Morozoff’ in Japan, a Russian, Japan-raised baseball player Victor Starukhin: viewers will have a chance to find out about these and many other fascinating stories in this film. The documentary was screened at the XVII Asian-Pacific International Film Festival in Vladivostok in September 2019. The script was written by Alexander Panov, Doctor of Political Sciences, the Head of Department for Diplomatic Studies at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Japan (1996-2003). The film was directed by Marina Kireeva and produced by Olga Monakhova, Head of the Representative Office, ICF Russia. --- Документальный фильм «На пути к доверию: русские в Японии» Снятый при поддержке Международного фонда Шодиева в прошлом году, этот фильм является частью цикла, посвященного взаимоотношениям России и Японии. «На пути к доверию: русские в Японии» – полнометражный фильм, посвященный истории отношений двух стран и людям, которые на протяжении двух столетий стремились подружить народы России и Японии. Фильм повествует об уникальных исторических событиях, до сих пор остававшихся неизвестными для широкой аудитории. Японская татуировка Николая Второго, гений кимоно Иттику Кубота и его заключение в Сибири, элитный шоколад Morozoff в Кобэ, бейсбольный стадион имени Старухина на Хоккайдо – об этом и многом другом узнают зрители фильма. В сентябре 2019 года фильм был показан на XVII Международном кинофестивале стран Азиатско-Тихоокеанского региона «Меридианы Тихого». Автор сценария и основной рассказчик фильма – Александр Панов, доктор политических наук, заведующий кафедрой дипломатии МГИМО МИД РФ, Чрезвычайный и Полномочный Посол России в Японии (1996–2003). Режиссёр − Марина Киреева. Продюсер фильма – Ольга Монахова, директор Представительства Международного фонда Шодиева в России.
