The course of the SVO, the loss and wear of the barrels, as well as the deployment of new units led to the need to re-mothball and supply old howitzers to the units, which were stored in peacetime. But even such self-propelled guns in the hands of a trained crew and in the presence of modern ammunition can successfully hit targets in the near rear of the enemy with high accuracy.
