My older translations are more likely to have errors than the newer ones. “Ночи напролет“ could also be translated as “Nights on end“, “on end“ meaning one after the other without end. “И нам все по колена“ contains the phraseological expression - the lyric could also be translated “And we're feeling ten feet tall“ “And we're under the influence/ three sheets to the wind.“ I chose “knee-deep“ which means “deeply involved/ preoccupied“ and included “elated“ to indicate it's positive connotation. I ignored the reference to “us“ as the lyric would become long and this meaning is apparent regardless. “Spitting on the abyss“ means something like
