How to master in GarageBand iOS (iPhone/iPad) In this video, it is time to master my new song and by popular demand I will be doing this 100% in GarageBand iOS with just free stock plugins. GarageBand iPhone (or GarageBand iPad) is far from the ideal platform for mastering a song, but it can be done. This simple approach involves using the free LRC5 EQ plugin, the stock GarageBand compressor and the Apple AU limiter to make some subtle final tweaks to my song to make it more competitive and “radio ready”. Steps involved in this process: 1. Export the final mix of the song as a WAV file 2. (If your track is too loud - getting close to peaking - use the EQ FX hack to lower the overall volume) 3. Set up a new blank project and make sure the number of bars is set to “automatic” 4. Import this WAV file back in to a new GarageBand project 5. Trim the start and finish of the track to ensure the lead-in and lead-out sound right 6. Remove any plugins or settings to ensure it is completely raw audio 7. Add the AU limiter plugin to the end of the effects chain 8. Add the stock GarageBand compressor plugin 9. Add the LRC5 EQ plugin 10. Adjust the settings to get the right balanced final master == Related Videos == Writing, recording, mixing and mastering “Wasting Time“ in GarageBand iOS - Change master volume using FX in GarageBand iOS - Apple's free AU plugins for GarageBand iOS - Compressor in GarageBand iOS - Free EQ plugin for GarageBand iOS - == Pete Recommends == Full list of the audio and video gear I use is at: Note - Links provided in this video description may be affiliate links, meaning that if you choose to purchase products using these links, a small commission may be paid to me for referring you.
