Comet Hits the Sun -- Spawns Explosion

An incredible video of a sungrazer “Kreutz“ comet hitting the Sun, and soon afterwards a huge Coronal Mass Ejection spews from the Sun. Did the comet cause the explosion? There is no known mechanism for the two events being related, and the source region of the CME did not correlate with the comet hit location near the solar disk.
