On a perfect day for Grasstrack racing, and on a super fast track, the racing at this years Battle of Britain was simply breathtaking. You would never have thought that most of these riders had not raced for almost a year and a half, but did they show they had missed racing their bikes, oh yes. The Frittenden Club had done a brilliant job in getting their Sandhurst Bridge Farm racing surface as good as it’s ever been, and with a fair bit of rain in the days earlier in the week leading up to the meeting, the watering could hardly have been done more perfectly. Everyone was looking forward to the clash between the very speedy Eddie Kennett, and former European and British Masters Champion James Shanes in the 500cc Solo class, and they did not disappoint.
