Editors - Berlin Schwuz 25th July 2016 ARTE broadcast

We had to wait for 200 days, but we eventually got the ARTE film of Editors appearing at Schwuz in Berlin on the 25th July 2016. The reason for the delay remains unclear, but it gave the gig a slightly mysterious aura as a result. So much of what the band were doing then and now relies upon the presentation of the songs, and not just in the proficiency of how they're played. Mr Smith seems to have really embraced the position of front-man and performer, possibly reluctantly, but he's been able to adopt the role with ease (see ERM=BD). After an interview with the band the show begins with No Harm, which is a bit of misdirection on their part because the set that follows is nothing like the opener. It's all atmosphere and mood setting, and then things move at a much faster pace with each track afterwards.
