Eduardo Ayas was an Argentine tenor with a strong presence at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires in the 1990s and 2000s. Gifted with a lyrical tenor voice, with great fluency in the high zone and plenty of personality for romantic roles, he was also an excellent actor. An expert in the Italian and French repertoire, he also sang in languages as dissimilar as English, German, Russian and Czech. Eduardo Ayas died in Buenos Aires, at the age of 52, on August 26, 2010. Eduardo Ayas, sang with Adelaida Negri in Guillelmo Tell (Arnoldo), Armida (Rinaldo), I Masnadieri (Carlo), Nabucco (Ismaele), Elisabetta, Regina D’Inghilterra (Norfolk), and Adriana Lecouvreur (Abate Di Chazeuil).
