Robert the Bruce, our Outlaw King, is ambushed, as he was preparing for his duel in the morning against Aymer de Valens. Scots are relaxed, they are celebrating with their newly-crowned king. Even the wife and daughter of Bruce is at the camp. Knowing all these, Valens uses the element of surprise to perfection, ambushing the Scots in the middle of the forest. Thanks to his nobles like the Black Douglas, Robert the Bruce barely escapes the fight, his troops annihilated, their morale very low. Will the Scots be able to bounce back from such a devastating loss? I think this short scene sums up why Outlaw King did some things a lot better than other historical movies. Action-packed, great camera angles, and no Hollywood nonsense!
