On December 9, 1956, 27,000 hardy fans turned up in the Bronx, at New York's Yankee Stadium, to peer through the gloom while the Giants battled the Cleveland Browns and the weather to overcome a seven-point deficit. Players including Giants' Frank Gifford, Charlie Conerly, and Kyle Rote, and Browns' Tommy B. O'Connell, and Fred Lew “Curly“ Morrison struggled and sloshed through the rain and mud … and THEN SNOW! Unfortunately, the Browns plus the weather were real spoilers that day for the Giants. But that didn’t stop the NY Giants from becoming being the 1956 NFL Champions.
