Post-Second World War, Europe enjoyed an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity, reaching a zenith with the fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, fueling hopes of a permanently united continent. However, this unity is now being tested, with the rise of nationalism and events like “Brexit“ indicating a possible shift in the collective European identity.
