Tom y Matilde y Jim y Emily son dos matrimonios amigos unidos por el hecho de que los hombres, están destinados en la base de Torrejon. Los primeros se hallan en crisis debido a la posibilidad de licenciarse y regresar a Estados Unidos con el fin de evitar que Tom vaya a Vietnam. Matilde teme marchar a un pais desconocido lleno de prejuicios raciales. Tom and Matilde and Jim and Emily are two friendly couples united by the fact that the men are stationed at the Torrejon base. The former are in crisis due to the possibility of discharging and returning to the United States in order to prevent Tom from going to Vietnam. Matilde fears going to an unknown country full of racial prejudices.
