People generally think that Von braun is the genius of rockets who, after having created the famous V2 rocket, has allowed the Apollo project to exist and to send men on the moon. In reality, Von Braun was not really a genius, and even rather a mediocre engineer. He is not the real father of the V2 rocket, he stole the fathersip of this rocket from another more brilliant engineer by the name of Paul Schröder, who would have had more the right to be at the head of the Apollo project. And NASA was not ignoring the existence of Paul Schröder, so, if it preferred Von Braun to be at the head of the project rather than Schröder, it certainly was for a reason other than competence.
