Recep Erdoğan’s right-wing AKP party faced major defeats in the recent Turkish elections. One of the main factors contributing to this outcome was Erdoğan’s inability to get the cost of living under control but another was AKP’s policy towards Gaza. While paying lip service to the Palestinian cause, AKP did very little to support Gaza.
