I'm always looking for new ways to create depth and texture and incorporate it into a memory tile. In this piece I used rice paper decoupaged onto a wooden gallery blank and layered clay elements from the IOD Acanthus and Primitive Moulds. Lately I seem to be drawn to the look of rusty elements and this technique was just perfect for that look. Originally recorded live on my facebook page, this video has been edited with you in mind. I hope you enjoy it and are inspired to create your own memory tiles. Materials used in this project: *DIY Paint in Crinoline, Black Velvet, Sandy Blonde, Summer Crush, White Swan, Layered Chocolate, Dark & Decrepit, Clear Liquid Patina, and Big Top Sealer: you can find DIY Paint here: *IOD Products: a 5x7 IOD Wood Galley Blank Acanthus Mould: Primitive Mould: Air Dry Clay: Decoupage Queen Rice Paper Black Patchwork: Chapters 0:00 Introduction and Products Used 1:23 Decoupaging the Rice Paper 2:06 Placement of the Clay Flowers 6:30 Painting the Flowers with Sandy Blonde and Crinoline 8:04 Painting Black Velvet around the Edges for Depth 8:48 Dark & Decrepit on the Floral Elements 9:03 Creating Rust with Summer Crush and Layered Chocolate 11:20 Creating Drippy Rust 15:22 Dry Brushing Crinoline on Top of the Clay Elements 18:10 Glamour Shots If you enjoyed watching this video, please subscribe to my channel and follow me here: Pinterest
