Mexico is So Hot That Monkeys Are Dropping Dead From Trees | Firstpost America A brutal heatwave in Mexico is causing monkeys to drop dead from trees. At least 83 of the howler monkeys, a species that is considered endangered, have been found dead in the Gulf Coast state of Tabasco. Other primates rescued by residents are suffering from severe dehydration, with loss of consciousness and signs of fever. Now, volunteers are urging residents to place buckets of water and fruits to save the lives of these monkeys. Meanwhile, the Mexican Environment Ministry has launched an investigation into these deaths, as it says the possible reasons could also be malnutrition and spraying of agrochemicals.
