Luhman 16 is a binary brown dwarf system and one of the closest astronomical objects to the Sun. A series of images were made using Hubble to look for planets, but also shows the motion of the stars in the sky. The motion is due to their physical movement in space, the Earth’s motion around the Sun (causing the loop-de-loops), and the physical movement of the brown dwarfs as they orbit each other over time.
