The Ocean SUV is due in the UK next year and is a truly innovative electric car. This is the company’s second model and it looks like another peach - it’s the Pear. Fisker has revealed more details its ‘city car’, which is due to follow the bigger Ocean SUV into production in 2025. It will have two battery choices, giving claimed ranges of 198 or 320 miles range and a starting price which undercuts a Corsa Electric at £30,900. The Pear will be built in the US in collaboration with Foxconn, the company which is best known for its huge iPhone assembly factories in China. It uses a lightweight steel body structure which Fisker claims uses 35% fewer parts than a conventional electric car. But that doesn’t mean it's a small car, and at 4,550mm it’s actually longer than a Nissan Qashqai Besides its lightweight and cheap-to-manufacture structure and drivertrain, the Pear features numerous clever features to make life easier for urban drivers. These include a bootlid which slides down into the back bumper, an insulated ‘frunk’ for keeping takeaways warm and a van-like bench front seat which turns it into a six-seater. Join Ginny as she takes a closer look at the Pear for the first time and delivers the verdict. What do you think of the Fisker? As always, we love to hear your comments so get typing below.
