Original track - Yuka Kitamura Metal cover - RichaadEB ( Artwork - LiewJJ () I never liked typical Souls OST in the first place - while it sure did create a scary and epic atmosphere to complement a (for the most part) scary and epic boss fight, i barely can listen to them on their own. And, despite being a metal fan, I don't think existing metal covers fit the game either. Aaand then i just stumbled across Hellkite Drake's Soul of Cinder dual mix ( which reminded me - if neither style satisfies you - just combine them! It turned out really well, for 5 minutes it took me to mix the two. Obviously RichaadEB already did most of the work to time his cover to the original, but I still didn't expect it so sound this good. Typically, dual mixes do not sound great, as various instruments playing the same melodies tend to overlap with each other. I guess the original theme's reliance on choirs helped here.
