FBI on scene of fiery derailment of train hauling crude oil in Whatcom County

A tanker train hauling crude oil derailed in Whatcom County Tuesday morning and several train cars burst into flames. There are no reports of injuries. Six tank cars derailed near Custer at 11:46 a.m., according to the Whatcom County Sherrif’s Office. It’s unclear what caused the train cars to derail.
