Transcend is of course no stranger to Stamina, helping to have shaped the label's output, direction - and signature sound - thanks in part to three seminal artist albums and countless EPs to boot. When a new Transcend EP drops there is always a buzz at Stamina HQ, and this latest record keeps with that tradition, whilst also marking a distinct step-up in artistic evolution, as we enter a near-zenith Transcend 3.0 stage. Intensifying all that makes his productions distinct, whilst stripping things back to the core fundamentals that represent his unmistakable unique sound, peak-Transcend has been unlocked, with a two-tracker that lands firmly in modern-day classic territory, instantly. Sporting production-values the highest we've ever seen from him (and we don't say that lightly!), 'Transcendance' is the first out the gate on the record, occupying the Yin-side and representing some of the absolute best uplifting freeform hardcore you will ever hear. Superbly executed by this master craftsman of the genre, the melodic brilliance is bold, the structure on-point for today's dancefloor generation, and the execution of euphoric excellent unmatched. Pure unadulterated, concentrated freeform brilliance. 'Butterfly Effect' follows up to seal the EP complete, oozing darker grittier tones, with its chaotic and eastern-influenced melodies underpinned by a relentless driving sonic. Acid flutters, snappy breakbeat fills and a galloping low end all contribute to the big moody atmosphere, which in contrast to the beautifully uplifting Yin-side sits firmly in underground freeform territory. A brilliantly balanced EP from one of the truest masters of the 'form. Not to be missed.
