Spalding in Lincolnshire. M/S of a group of women gathered around a man who is holding a large square basket. He hands out bundles of raffia to the girls. L/S of the girls in a field picking daffodils. Closer shot of two girls as they stand up and tie the bunches with raffia. They put the bunches under their arms. The girls break for a cup of tea and a rest. The girls sit on the ground in their wellington boots and a woman walks along filling their cups with tea. C/Us of the women drinking their tea and reading magazines. “In this area about 40,000,000 flowers are produced annually!“ reads an intertitle. C/U of four girls holding big bunches of daffodils and laughing. Camera pans across to show more of the girls. L/S of them walking towards the camera with arms full of daffs. They put the bunches into the square basket. L/S of an open backed lorry. The big baskets are loaded onto the back. A foreman stands and watches the woman struggle with the basket.
