So guys, the fight between Artur Beterbiev and Anthony Yarde took place on January 28th, 2023, at the Wembley Arena in London. Artur Beterbiev, the defending unified light-heavyweight champion, also known for his 100% knockout ratio, faced a strong and determined challenger in Anthony Yarde. Guys, that was an amazing fight to watch. High energy, a great boxing workout, filled with amazing boxing skills. Anthony Yarde made a great effort, but in the end, Artur Beterbiev from Canada, proved too much for the London-based boxer Yarde. The fight was stopped in the eighth round when Yarde's corner threw in the towel, recognizing that their fighter was in danger and unable to defend himself effectively. Now, looking ahead to Beterbiev's undisputed showdown with Dmitry Bivol, originally set for June 1st but now expected to take place on October 12th in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, I'm quite interested in analyzing their styles and this future match-up. In the Yarde fight, we've been reminded about the strengths that Beterbiev possesses when fighting against a boxer who wants to maintain and use distance to box. Now, Yarde did a great job, but I believe Bivol is better equipped with his skills to preserve distance and execute these tactics in a fight against Beterbiev. We've seen that Beterbiev knows how to cut off the ring, has good anticipation of his opponent's movements, and has good punch selection when closing the distance on his opponent. Beterbiev sometimes takes risks to close the distance on his opponent. He doesn't really hesitate that much. However, Bivol presents himself as a much more calculated and cautious boxer who likes to preserve distance even when he applies pressure with direct attacks. Beterbiev likes to plant his feet and utilizes strength more than power when he throws his punches. Bivol on the other hand is more of a power puncher with mobility. Both are excellent at pushing their opponents back but I prefer Bivol's setup to combination punching than Beterbiev's more forceful approach. Now guys what are your thoughts on this fight?
