Website: Subscribe: On the lot right now is an incredibly unique 1970 Dodge Super Bee. Not quite sure if there's a nicer 1970 Super Bee anywhere! In 1968, Dodge watched as Chrysler sister brand Plymouth launched the Road Runner. Not wanting to fall behind, Dodge released their own “budget“ muscle car. Based on the “midsized“ Dodge Coronet coupe, the Super Bee was intended to be Dodge's counterpart to the Road Runner and was released in the spring of 1968, shortly after the Road Runner. Priced only $131 more than the Road Runner, the Super Bee became an instant showstopper for Dodge. After the first two years of production, 1970 saw a massive overhaul in the car's appearance. To differentiate from the Coronet, the Super Bee received a functional twin-scoop hood and a new twin-loop grille meant to resemble “a bumblebee's wings“. This Super Bee is especially unique, given that it is equipped with its 440 C.I. V8 paired to the potent “6-Pack“ carburetor setup. Going even further, this Super Bee has an original Hurst “Pistol-Grip“ 4-speed manual transmission. The factory-code “Sublime Green“ paint looks stunning, stretched out over a laser-straight body that would put a ruler to shame. With only one repaint, this car truly gleams. As the Super Bee was meant to be a bare-bones performance oriented version of the Coronet, the interior matches. The black bench seats are in original condition and they look incredible. The gauges are authentic Super Bee spec and are befitting of a racecar rather than a factory-built car. The wood-grain trim is also in fantastic shape, complimenting the rest of the black interior extremely well. In addition to the incredible performance options, this car is fitted with original working gauges (including the tachometer and clock!), an AM factory pushbutton radio, a working Super Bee ram-air hood, a fantastically original interior, a dual exhaust system, a working heater with blower fan, ventilated windows, and a defroster. This crazy green Super Bee rides on a set of exceptional factory-style steel wheels on Cooper Cobra RWL tires. This special Dodge drives like it just came off of the showroom floor, and it screams like a bat out of hell. This green monster is sitting on our lot right now, just waiting for the right person to let it back out on the streets to tear up the pavement again.
